Remote Assist works with Microsoft Teams, which gives you access to all your files within the Microsoft ecosystem, making it easy to share important/relevant information within a Remote Support Call.

Development process

The expert who gives assistance to the end user requires a PC with Microsoft Teams. The end user can then call in to the expert within his teams contacts.

The expert has the ability to make AR annotations, add in the space of the end user.  

End User Experience

The end user can call an expert from his Microsoft Teams contact list from Hololens or a compatible smartphone/tablet. The Expert gets a call in his teams application from which he can start instructing the user through speech, annotations, text, files and screensharing. 

Conclusion

The integration with Teams is a great asset for this application, as it requires little effort to set up a call. The AR Markers on Hololens are robust on bigger objects/surfaces but can be a little blunt on smaller objects. (The brush does not allow you to choose a size)
